The Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia has carried out Operation ‘Rovitor’, an investigation into a violent street robbery in Totana. The operation led to the arrest of a young couple, aged 19 and 24, accused of robbery with violence and intimidation and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The investigation began when a young woman from Totana reported that she had been mugged while walking alone at night. According to her statement, she was approached by a young man and woman. While the woman kept watch, the man threatened her with a knife and demanded her belongings.

During the struggle, the victim suffered cuts to her hand that required stitches. The attackers fled with her wallet and mobile phone.

Guardia Civil officers later found the stolen phone on the roof of a nearby house, where it had been thrown. They managed to climb up and recover it.

The next day, investigators discovered that one of the stolen credit cards had been used in a local store. Security camera footage showed two individuals matching the victim’s description using the card for a purchase.

As a result, the Guardia Civil successfully identified, located, and arrested the suspects in Totana. They now face charges of robbery with violence and intimidation and fraudulent use of a bank card.
