Criminal organizations smuggling hashish into Spain dismantled during the operation.
A total of 14 people have been arrested as part of the investigation.
The Spanish Civil Guard has dismantled several criminal organizations responsible for smuggling large quantities of hashish into mainland Spain, hiding the drugs in heavy-duty vehicles.
Earlier today, multiple raids were carried out at warehouses in the El Tarajal industrial area of Ceuta. During the operation, authorities discovered a 12-meter-deep cavity inside one of the warehouses, leading to an underground tunnel extending toward the Moroccan border.
The tunnel, a narrow passage reinforced with wooden supports, is believed to have been used for drug smuggling between Morocco and Spain.
This discovery marks the third phase of Operation “HADES”, which has led to 14 arrests over the past three weeks, including two Civil Guard officers. The investigation is linked to the seizure of three trucks found with hidden compartments containing over 6,000 kg of hashish.
The operation involved multiple specialized units of the Civil Guard, including the Central Operative Unit (UCO), the Intelligence Headquarters, the Internal Affairs Service, the Subsoil Reconnaissance Unit, and the Rapid Action Group (GAR), along with regional units from Andalusia and Ceuta.
The investigation is being led by Spain’s National Court’s Central Investigative Court No. 3 and the Special Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office.
