- The aim of the event is to raise public awareness of the work carried out at the animal protection centre in San Bartolomé
Asoka Orihuela, the non-profit association in charge of the local animal protection centre, is organising a new edition of their ‘Charity Walks’ event at its facilities in San Bartolomé. An activity with charitable purposes in which attendees can enjoy a pleasant walk through the orchard of Orihuela, with a route suitable for the whole family with one of the dogs for adoption from the shelter, in exchange for a donation of 6 euros.
The aim is to communicate the great work carried out every day by both the team of workers and volunteers, to publicise how the centre works and to raise awareness about abandonment, animal abuse and adoption in the municipality, as well as to encourage volunteering.
The event will take place on Sunday 23 February at their facilities, located in in San Bartolomé Camino Lo Arques, in two turns; at 10.15 am in Spanish, and 11.15 am for English speakers.
The activity will include a brief explanatory talk and a visit to the facilities. There will also be a collection point for donations and supplies needed for the daily running of the centre, such as cleaning products, cat litter, blankets, towels and wet dog and cat food.
Those interested in attending must register in advance, indicating their name and surname, number of participants and the shift in which they wish to take part, by emailing asokaorihuela@gmail.com.
If you are unable to attend, you can also make a ‘FILA CERO’ donation by bank transfer to the account number ES06 0081 0180 7800 0214 9922 or through BIZUM to the telephone number 673509069.
Asoka Orihuela invites the whole population to participate, including those from nearby towns, to enjoy a happy day in which to help our animals through a small gesture of solidarity, which can make a big difference.
