It’s nearly “Día de San Valentín” but I’m not sure there was a huge amount of love in the air up at Font de Llop today, the course was “shabby chic” to say the least and be polite, so one either loved it or hated it… far too many bunkers (IMO, whilst still picking sand out of my scalp and other places…).

However, a pretty tight front 9 and opening up when you get to the back 9.  A couple of our players didn’t have a great day which shan’t be elaborated on (not just the golf, unfortunately).  We wish them well.

The weather decided to play silly bananas, with what promised to be nice proceeding to turn windy, cold and a spattering of rain.  Being in a bit of a valley up west of the airport didn’t translate into pleasant playing conditions for a fair few holes.

And on to the actual scores for this Bogey’s Shield (Medal) today.

A rollover Twos Pot today with some niftily accurate putts in from their tee shots on the par 3s: John Osborne, Darren Strugnell, Dave Rowe, Mike Stott, Stuart Tosh and Paul Lambert – well done all.

The Twos “generally” go hand in hand with the NTPs from Mike Stott, John Osborne, Colin Smith, Paul Lambert and Alan Bryce hitting the green very respectfully.

Best guest was Mitchell Grundy with a joint best score of the day of 71 net. The football card was won by Rob Fyfe with Rangers.  Mike Stott very generously donated his Twos Pot dosh to our charity Blob Tin, which will be going to the local Pink Ladies group to be allocated to a local charity soon.

Gold: Stuart Tosh (71 net – joint best score)
Silver: Paul Lambert (71 net – joint best score)
Bronze: Norman Padmore (73 net)

Las Colinas for the Society next week, always a favourite.
