The town of Redován will present its tourism initiative, ‘Senderos de Luz’ (Paths of Light), at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid on January 23, 2025. This outdoor activity, which takes place annually during the Cruces de Mayo festival, promotes family-friendly and sustainable tourism by combining nature, sports, and tradition.
Activity Highlights:
‘Senderos de Luz’ is a night-time walking route illuminated by participants, starting from the church and traversing the foothills of the Sierra de Redován. It emphasizes sport, family tourism, and the traditions of the town’s neighborhoods.
Origins: Launched in 2016 as a collaboration between the Departments of Sports, Culture, and Festivities, the event has grown in participation annually, creating a visually stunning “snake of lights” on the mountainside.
Sierra de Redován: Known for its active tourism attractions, such as the Vía Ferrata (one of the longest in the Valencia region), the Sierra has positioned Redován as a key destination for adventure enthusiasts and families alike.
Promotional Campaign:
The initiative will be accompanied by a promotional campaign on social media, featuring micro-videos and a new promotional spot to highlight the area’s unique natural and cultural appeal.
The mayor, Nely Ruiz, describes Redován as “a place where nature, sports, and family unite,” emphasizing the Sierra’s potential as a tourism gem.
Commitment to Sustainable Tourism:
Tourism and Environment Councilor Adrián Ballesta highlighted ‘Senderos de Luz’ as a symbol of Redován’s commitment to sustainable tourism, offering accessible activities for all ages. The municipality aims to attract visitors by balancing nature, sport, and cultural traditions.
