The Mayor of Orihuela, Pepe Vegara, visited the sports courts in the Correntías district on Wednesday morning, alongside Sports Councillor Víctor Sigüenza and Infrastructure and Rural Development Councillor Víctor Valverde, to inspect the recently completed repairs.
The Sports Department has undertaken repairs on the futsal and basketball courts, which had suffered significant deterioration due to the wear of their surface materials, explained Councillor Sigüenza. The work included resurfacing the courts with an acrylic primer and a new layer of acrylic paint for sports flooring, as well as marking the lines and replacing urban furniture and equipment.
Mayor Pepe Vegara stated that this work is part of a contract that also covers repairs to sports facilities in the Arneva district and Orihuela Costa, with work expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
The total budget for the repairs across these three sports facilities is €48,257, including VAT.
