The Orihuela Medieval Market will now be held on 28th February, 1st and 2nd March 2025.
The reason for the change is unclear although it is thought that the new dates will allow the contract winner to target more specialised merchants and entertainers which might not have been available during the original dates of 31 January, 1 and 2 February.
It could also be that the weather might be a little kinder.
The upcoming market, which happens to be the 25th, is promised to be bigger and better an ever.
This year, the theme of the souk will be based on the three cultures that coexisted during the medieval period, Christian, Jewish and Muslim, so that the route will be divided into three zones, from the Plaza de Santiago to Santo Domingo.
All the information regarding the tender, none of which will change in any way other than the dates, can be found on the Contracting Portal. Companies interested in bidding for the operation of the market can submit their bids until 26 December 2024.
