C.D. Montesinos 1 – C.D. El Campello 0
A thrilling encounter between second-placed C.D. Montesinos and fourth-placed C.D. El Campello unfolded at the Campo Municipal in Los Montesinos. Despite facing a questionable refereeing performance, the home side secured a crucial 1-0 victory.
The first half saw Montesinos dominate, playing their most impressive football in weeks. Ivo’s early goal set the tone, but the referee’s inconsistent decisions marred the game. The official seemed to favour the visiting team, awarding dubious fouls against Montesinos and overlooking clear infringements.
The second half was a different story, with El Campello gaining the upper hand. However, the resolute Montesinos defence, led by the exceptional Pablo, held firm. Youngster Anderson, unfortunately, was forced off the pitch due to a nasty foul that the referee inexplicably ignored.
Despite the challenges, Montesinos managed to create scoring opportunities on the counter-attack. Willy, unfortunately, was sent off after receiving two questionable yellow cards.
Ultimately, Ivo’s early goal proved to be the difference-maker. The victory solidifies Montesinos’ position in the league and sets them up for a strong finish to the year.
Man of the Match: Luis Carlos (No. 17) was outstanding, but the entire team deserves credit for their hard-fought win.
Next Up: C.D. Montesinos will travel to La Murada for their final match before the Christmas break. Date and time to be confirmed.
As the team prepares for their final game of the year, they aim to finish the season on a high note.
