The Pilar de la Horadada Council has announced the tendering of two projects to enhance the municipality’s sports facilities. These projects include renovating the central football field’s artificial turf and constructing three new paddle tennis courts at the municipal sports centre.

The first project involves a complete overhaul of the central football pitch’s artificial turf, with a budget of 274,859.67 euros (VAT included) and a completion period of three months. The central pitch, surrounded by an athletics track and used for competitions, was built in 2009 and is no longer in optimal condition. The renovation will install state-of-the-art artificial grass, meeting technical standards, and includes a 12-month warranty.

The second project, valued at 110,633.51 euros (VAT included), will construct three paddle tennis courts in response to the sport’s growing popularity among residents. Currently, the sports centre has three paddle tennis courts, which are insufficient to meet demand. To accommodate more players, the council will convert one of the eight tennis courts and three one-on-one paddle tennis courts into three standard two-on-two paddle tennis courts.

Both projects aim to modernize and expand the sports offerings in Pilar de la Horadada, with the paddle tennis courts and football pitch renovations expected to be completed within three months, each with a 12-month warranty.
