Pilar de la Horadada has kicked off its festive season by lighting the Christmas lights and unveiling a new municipal nativity scene outside the Town Hall, sheltered under a transparent tent. This setup allows members of the public to view the scenes regardless of weather conditions.
During the lights switch-on ceremony, enhanced by the Rondalla Viejas Glorias, Mayor José María Pérez Sánchez announced a range of activities for all ages. The schedule includes concerts, musicals, children’s workshops, Christmas stories, magic shows, cinema, escape rooms, the traditional San Silvestre Pilareña on New Year’s Eve morning, and the popular Hibernis Mare activities on Mil Palmeras beach.
Sánchez also highlighted the Christmas and New Year’s Eve events in Plaza de la Iglesia, starting at 5:00 p.m. on December 24 and 31. These events will feature local DJs, bars, and catering from Pilar establishments, expecting a large turnout based on last year’s success.
On December 21, at 5:30 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive at Plaza de la Iglesia, accompanied by the School of Modern Dance and the School of Sports Dance and Classical Dance. He will visit Pinar de Campoverde at 11:30 a.m. and Torre de la Horadada at 1:00 p.m.
From January 2-4, the royal page will be next to the nativity scene at the Town Hall, and on January 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to collect letters for the Three Wise Men. The Three Wise Men’s Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m., running along Calle Mayor to Plaza de la Iglesia, where the Three Wise Men will deliver toys to children born between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2023.
