Everybody who has played at Lo Romero has the proverbial photo of the iconic “Giant Golf Ball” – and this week’s photos are far more festive! A very popular course and you know why once you’ve played it. The weather was grey, and it was chilly, but the mood wasn’t quite as dull.
Lo Romero Golf is a fantastic course, which is well maintained, with extra developments currently being done with the addition of a humungous water feature (also soon to be known as “Lost Ball Zone”). A challenging course for mid to high handicap players, but still quite challenging for the lower handicap with some very speedy greens today. A fairly standard first hole setting out but that S.1 Island Green at the 18 can make or destroy your round!
A full complement of 48 lined up later than we normally would but we all got in as the, somewhat shy, sun today decided to set. Not very many bare arms or legs were on show today (thankfully!).
Some very juicy scores with the top in each category being:
Gold: Gary Kavanagh (39 points)
Silver: Sten Ronsen (40 points) – joint best score of the day.
Bronze: Carmel McCann (40 points) – joint best score of the day.
The “Two” rollover pot was divided between Dave Blackburn, Richard Whitely, Mick Cook and Martin Clarke. Nearest the Pins this week were Dave Blackburn, Ken Flaherty (greedy boy with two!) and Mick Cook. Dave Rowe was the lucky football card winner.
Next week we are at one of the nicest courses in the area – Las Colinas. Also, another thank you to our kind members who have continued to donate to A Helping Hand’s Christmas appeal.
We have a photo but not quite of all the winners, nevertheless it’s very festive! Pictured left to right: Terry Sharley with his Abacus wine, Mick Cook (NTP & Twos), Carmel McCann (Bronze), Ken Flaherty (2 x NTPs) and Sten Rosen (Silver).
