The Councillor for Social Welfare, Agustina Rodríguez, has announced a new edition of the activity ‘Mayores en Marcha’ which will be held in Orihuela Costa on 27 November at 10.00h starting at the esplanade of Playa Flamenca.
This is the third edition of this event organised by the Department of Social Welfare, through the Social Services Centres and with the collaboration of the Department of Sports.
The session will consist of a two-kilometre athletic walk in the vicinity of the Esplanade of Playa Flamenca, with 400 seniors likely to attend from the municipality of Orihuela. After the walk, refreshments will be provided to participants (lunch) and sports activities such as dance, yoga or gerontogymnastics will be held in the square. The day will end at approximately 13.30h.
The councillor reminded those over 60 years of age that to register for the day, they should contact the workshop monitors at the Senior Citizen Centres where they are taking part.
