A Feast for the Senses: Pilar de la Horadada’s First Gastronomic Days

Pilar de la Horadada’s inaugural Gastronomic Days, held during the 2024 Patronal Festivities, were a resounding success. The Plaza de la Iglesia transformed into a vibrant outdoor kitchen, attracting hundreds of locals and visitors who indulged in delicious food, live music, and engaging workshops.

The event kicked off on the first day with a presentation and tasting by the local cooperative SURINVER, showcasing their peppers and other fresh produce. The LA GRANJA restaurant followed with a captivating showcooking demonstration, featuring a unique Savory twist on the traditional sweet fried flowers. The day concluded with a lively performance by the local group INERCIA.

On the second day, children had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop hosted by PANADERÍA JOSE ANTONIO, where they created delicious biscuits topped with melted chocolate featuring the Pilar de la Horadada coat of arms.

The culinary journey continued with a tasting of salted fish from the firm “CUNA DEL SALAZÓN.” BOCARRIBA COCINA then wowed the crowd with a creative salted and cured sea bass loin dish that combined various textures and flavours. The event concluded with a flamenco-pop performance by Andrés Ballester.

The Fiestas Councillor, Susi Sánchez, expressed her satisfaction with the event’s success and expressed hope for even more content in future editions. She also thanked the sponsors CELUCOSTA and JOSÉ DIAZ for their support in making the event a reality.
