The Orihuela Department of Contracting has published the tender for an emergency contract for the provision of sports services following the government’s announcement last Friday of its break with the previous management company, Clequali, which has since withdrawn from the service and abandoned its staff.
“This contract responds to the emergency situation created by the company Clequali, which has been providing these services since 2017, after announcing the cessation of services due to bankruptcy, and its precarious financial situation, which has led to non-payment of the salaries of the 130 staff,” the City Council said.
Given the urgency of the situation and the importance of maintaining operational sports services, the Council has decided to activate this emergency contract, which will guarantee the provision of services for the next nine months, with the possibility of an extension if necessary and a base budget of 2,411,209.53 euros, thus ensuring the continuity of services until the final award of the contract to a new company.
