The Civil Guard arrested a 32-year-old man on Saturday in the town of El Raal (Murcia). He was wanted by the police for a murder committed in the town of Casazza (Italy),
The investigation began at the end of August, when the Civil Guard received an urgent request for support from the Carabinieri in the Bergamo area, in order to locate and arrest this man as the perpetrator of a homicide which had caused great social alarm in the area.
It seems that the now detained man, armed with a glass during a fight in a bar, stabbed the victim in the back of the neck, causing his death. After this incident, he fled to the province of Murcia while his accomplice was arrested by the Carabinieri.
The investigation was carried out by the Fugitives from Justice Team of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard.
The arrest was made following the issue of an EAW (European Arrest Warrant) by the Italian judicial authorities. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction No. 2 on duty, at the headquarters of the National Court.
