The Valencian Trade Observatory, El Observatorio del Comercio Valenciano, has approved the 11 public holidays and Sundays on which commercial establishments will be allowed to open during 2025, as established by regional legislation.
At the meeting, chaired by the Regional Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Nuria Montes, who was accompanied by the Director General of Trade, Crafts and Consumption, Maribel Sáez, the Observatory has approved by majority to propose to the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism the following 11 Sundays and public holidays where shops can open on a Sunday in 2025:
January 5, 2025 – Sunday. Accumulation of holidays and Kings’ Day campaign.
January 12, 2025 – Sunday. Winter sales.
April 18, 2025 – Good Friday. Highest tourist influx.
April 20, 2025 – Easter Sunday. Highest tourist influx.
July 6, 2025 – Sunday. Summer sales.
November 1, 2025. Saturday. All Saints’ Day. Accumulation of holidays.
November 30, 2025 – Sunday. Christmas campaign.
December 6, 2025 – Saturday. Constitution Day. Christmas campaign.
December 8, 2025 – Monday. Immaculate Conception. Christmas campaign
December 14, 2025 – Sunday. Christmas campaign.
December 21, 2025 – Sunday. Christmas campaign.
The Valencian Trade Observatory, attached to the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism headed by Nuria Montes, is a collegiate, consultative and advisory body on trade matters.
Its functions include proposing, without binding force, the 11 Sundays and holidays whose opening is authorised annually by the Ministry. It is also the body responsible for receiving information on regulatory projects, declarations of areas of high tourist influx and those projects that the Ministry considers to be of interest.
The Valencian Trade Observatory is made up of representatives of business organisations in the commercial distribution sector, including SMEs; chambers of commerce; organisations that act in defence of consumers; municipal markets; trade unions; the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) and various bodies of the Generalitat.
