The National Police have arrested a Ukrainian fugitive in an Alicante hotel who is wanted in Russia for fraud. The 31-year-old man was involved in a scam at the end of 2021, when an International Arrest Warrant (OID) was issued.
According to a statement issued by the security agency, the fugitive was wanted by the Russian justice system due to his involvement in a fraud committed by a criminal group. The police were informed of his location, an Alicante hotel, where agents from the Citizen Security Brigade in Alicante arrested him.
The arrest was reported to the Central Court of Instruction on duty in Madrid, which determined that he be placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction on duty in Alicante.
