Orihuela’s Department of Social Welfare has published the technical specifications for the tender for the Municipal Home Help Service (SAD). The main objective is to provide a professional service which provides care in their own homes to people with difficulties in carrying out the basic activities of daily life.
The SAD is aimed at promoting the personal independence of users, as well as their integration into their usual environment. Through a set of actions and care, both personal and domestic and socio-community, the service seeks to avoid the internment of people in institutions, prevent isolation and promote well-being in their own homes.
Agustina Rodríguez, Councillor for Social Welfare at Orihuela City Council, has spoken about the importance of this service, stating that “the Municipal Home Help Service is essential to guarantee the quality of life of our elderly and disabled people. We want them to continue living in their homes, with the greatest possible autonomy and in the best conditions of well-being.”
“We want to ensure that people who are in need receive comprehensive and personalized support, which not only addresses their basic needs, but also encourages their participation in activities and their emotional well-being.”
The service is structured around four main objectives: assistance, prevention, rehabilitation and socio-education. SAD will provide help in carrying out daily tasks, such as personal hygiene or food preparation, as well as psychosocial and socio-community support, including assistance in tasks or activities outside the home.
The contract, whose duration and service hours will be adjusted to the individual needs of users, also includes the possibility of extraordinary actions in special cases. “We are committed to offering a flexible service that adapts to the circumstances of each person,” added the councillor.
The tender amounts to 240,456.04 euros with a duration of two years, extendable for two more years. “It is essential that the successful bidder shares our vision of a quality service focused on the well-being of its users,” concluded Agustina Rodríguez.
