Orihuela Town Hall has approved the contracting of a long-term credit operation for a total amount of 41,433,211.67 euros, to finance a series of investments that were all featured in the 2024 municipal budget.

The operation is structured in three lots, each with their own projects that will be financed independently. Those interested in participating in the bidding process may submit bids for one, two or all three lots, without any restriction whatsoever.

Lot One is for a total amount of 17,224,378.09 euros, and will predominantly be used to finance improvements in infrastructure and essential services in Orihuela Costa.

Among the most important investments are the construction of the second phase of the Security and Emergency Centre of Orihuela Costa, the purchase of vehicles and machinery for emergency management, the renovation of drinking water supply networks and the construction of the new footbridge over the AP-7.

Also to be financed are road asphalting projects, improvements in road safety, and the creation of new public parks and recreational areas.

The second lot, for 13,894,519.43 euros, will focus on the urbanisation and revitalisation of the historic centre of Orihuela, as well as the development of new cultural and social infrastructures, including the creation of a Civic Centre and Auditorium in Orihuela Costa, the rehabilitation of the Regional Archaeological Museum of Orihuela and the expropriation of land  for the Sports City. Other projects include the enhancement of archaeological sites and the improvement of the walls of Orihuela Castle.

The third lot, which has a budget of 10,314,314.15 euros, will be used for the modernisation of municipal buildings, the acquisition of new furniture and equipment and the construction of the second phase of the Molins Sports Area.

Lot three also includes the refurbishment of municipal centres, the installation of security cameras, and the implementation of new technologies and renewable energies in public buildings.
