The Department of Equality in Santa Pola town hall has launched the first ever Santa Pola Drag Queen contest, within the framework of the commemorative events of the International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day that will be held on June 29.

On the occasion of International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day, Saturday, June 29, will mark the end of an extensive program of activities during the month of June. One of the novelties is the call for the first Drag Queen Santa Pola contest.

So long as you satisfy the criteria to apply, you have until Friday, June 14 at 3:00 p.m., to submit your entry form, along with a photo and 40 second video, to the email orgullosantapola@gmail.com.

To register you must be 18 years old and live in Spain, not display any type of advertising or disrespectfully attack people or institutions. The show must be suitable for all audiences, since it will take place in the El Palmeral auditorium where people of all ages will have access.

The jury will evaluate the fantasy and originality of the costumes, makeup, friendliness and spontaneity and compliance with the rules. The three winners of the contest will have to perform an individual performance with the song in the presentation video and a simultaneous LIPSYNC (battle).

A prize will be awarded for the fantasy and originality of the costumes, a hotel night with breakfast and lunch in a restaurant, for 2 people. Another prize for the best makeup gift ticket of €50 to spend in associated stores in Santa Pola, in addition to a facial and body beauty treatment valued at 70 euro. Finally, the prize for friendliness and spontaneity will consist of a trip to Tabarca and food in a restaurant for 2 people.
