An extraordinary plenary session has been held in Mojácar to approve the modifications that will be made to the responsibilities of some delegations as a result of the resignation of two councillors who are members of the Government Team in the local authority, keeping their status as councillors. Resignations that correspond to the councillors Rosa María Cano and Sergio Alonso Soler and with which the responsibilities of the rest of the members of the corporation have been readjusted.

The new Corporation has been established since the 7th of July as a result of the May 2023 electoral results. In the aforementioned plenary session, Rosa María Cano Montoya was appointed deputy to the Mayor’s Office, delegate councillor for Social Services, Cleaning, Gardening and the Cemetery. Sergio Alonso Soler took on the departments of Works, Heritage, Environment, Land Registry and Parks.

Mojácar Council restructures its responsibilities due to the resignation of Rosa María Cano from the responsibilities of Deputy to the Mayor’s Office, Cleaning, Gardening and the Cemetery, as well as her remuneration and powers, except those that correspond to her for remaining in charge of Social Services and Deputy Mayor.

Sergio Alonso Soler resigns from the delegations that he held until today, as well as his remuneration and powers, remaining as a member of the Government Team and councillor in Mojácar Council

With the resignation of these two councillors, the new composition of the different delegations in Mojácar Council is as follows:

Jesús Montoya Gredilla is head of the delegations of Festivities, Sports, Youth, Civil Protection, Works, Cleaning, Gardening and Deputy to the Mayor’s Office; María Gracia Alarcón García will be responsible for Tourism, Transportation, Contracting, Trade, New Technologies, Heritage and Environment; Ana María García Fernández will be the delegate councillor for Health, Senior Citizens, Parks, Land Registry and the Cemetery; Rosa María Cano, Deputy Mayor and Social Assistance.

María Luisa Pérez López remains head of the delegation of Relations with Foreigners and Commitment to Citizenship.
