The Balaton Group held their AGM, their eighth, on November 7th , attended by 15 of the current 24 members. Many items were discussed including a proposal to sell of one of their boats which was rejected. A maintenance program agreed for 2020 and the finances were reported to be healthy. A membership drive is planned including an open day during the Easter period.
Balaton is a boat share group within SAMM, the Sailing Association Mar Menor, and has four day sail boats on the Mar Menor, three on swinging moorings at Los Narejos and one in the marina Isla Menores.
After the meeting the group plus some wives enjoyed a menu del dia at restaurant Ramon in Los Alcazares where George Noden was presented with “The Parrot”, an annual award for the person who makes the most memorable foul-up of the year.
