Every Sunday morning between 10 and 15 craft people from the area come together on the sea side boulevard in the Port of Jávea to set up their stalls. Some weeks ago they decided to include a workshop for children in their little fair.
These workshops have proved to be very popular: every Sunday at midday the children crowd around the table where one of the craft people teaches them to make a bracelet, a little sculpture or some juggling balls. As the participants take turns, the children can learn something different every Sunday.
The craft market in Jávea Port is quite special, in that everything sold is made by the people on the stalls. Thus you can be sure that you can find something original for a reasonable price, as you buy directly from the artist or artisan.
The fair is advertised with the label “Artesanía de Autor®”. The stalls open at 11 am and stay till 3 pm or later. The workshop is at 12 noon and is free.
