Alicante Provincial Council has allocated almost 115,000 euros for the development, promotion and revival of municipalities and their markets in the province. The Board has said that it wishes the additional funding to be spent in 3 specific areas.
There will be 70,000 euros made available for investment in the modernization and improvement to the infrastructure of a number of municipal markets in the province, in the townships of Albatera, Cox, Dolores, Redován and Rojales
The grants will target the areas of carpentry, plumbing, painting, cleaning and electricity. It will also be used to carry out the repair of doors, windows and roofs for the municipal markets uin addition to a number of promotional activities.
In addition, the Provincial Government will work with the towns in promoting trade fairs and other events that will stimulate the economic and business activity of municipalities and spread the excellence and the quality of its local products. In total the Council will invest a total of 29,403 euros to be distributed among almost all localities.
The Board has also approved a grant of 13,926 euros to be shared among 89 municipalities of the province as well as the smaller local farmers market in Jesus Pobre close to Denia, where the money will be used for economic promotion.
