On Saturday, April 26, at 5:30 PM, Orihuela’s Gabriel Miró Square will host “Committed Families”, an event organized for the first time by the Department of Family. The initiative aims to support pregnant women and families with babies who are in vulnerable situations.
Family Councillor Mª Carmen Portugal explained that the event is part of the Orihuela Family Observatory’s work on motherhood, emphasising the need to offer comprehensive support through information points and activities that improve families’ quality of life.
Associations Red Madre and Pro Vida will have booths providing information about the financial and social assistance they offer to mothers in need.
The event also coincides with the 20th “Celebration for Women and Life”, organised by Orihuela Toda Vida Importa. During the event, a charity raffle of two shopping carts (worth 200 euros each) will be held for anyone donating diapers.
There will also be children’s workshops, traditional games like tug-of-war and musical chairs, and a parent-child dance performance, creating a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
