The Guardia Civil has arrested a 21-year-old man and is investigating two women (his partner and mother) as part of “Operation Sexrei,” a case involving sextortion and money laundering.

One victim alone handed over more than €30,000 through bank transfers and online payments.

Investigators discovered that much of the stolen money was funneled into online sports betting, using multiple bank accounts and SIM cards to hide the trail, suggesting an organized network.

So far, six male victims across several Spanish provinces have been identified, but authorities believe there may be more.

The operation remains open under the supervision of Denia’s Court No. 1. The Guardia Civil warns the public to be vigilant when using dating websites and to report any extortion attempts immediately.
