Through the Renovation Funds, AGAMED has allocated €414,231.35 to improve the sewer system in El Limonar.

Torrevieja’s Councillor for Urban Services, Sandra Sánchez, announced that on the morning of Friday, February 7, the Local Government Board approved the project for the renewal of the sewer network in El Limonar, presented by AGAMED, the joint public-private water management company.

According to Sánchez, the current sewer system in El Limonar consists of aging concrete pipes that exhibit significant issues such as structural degradation, root intrusion, cracks, breaks, and misaligned joints. Given these deficiencies, it has been deemed necessary to replace the existing network and connections along Avenida de España, Avenida de las Grullas, and Gran Avenida, integrating them into the existing system along the western boundary of the area.

The project aims to address these issues by increasing the system’s hydraulic capacity through the installation of larger-diameter pipes. This will improve water flow and prevent potential network failures that could lead to street spills, ensuring the infrastructure remains in optimal condition for long-term maintenance.

With a total budget of €414,231.35 and an estimated execution period of six months, the plan includes replacing approximately 666 meters of PVC piping with a diameter of Ø315 mm, constructing 25 new inspection manholes, renewing 49 sewer connections, and repaving the affected road sections, covering more than 4,400 square meters.

Once the contract is formally awarded, the Verification and Layout Check Act will be signed, allowing construction to begin in the coming weeks.
