Spain to be represented at Eurovision by Chanel

It went down as the best Spanish national selection forever. Held on Saturday the Benidorm Fest 2022 reached its grand climax.

Rayden opened the show with his telegenic smile and infectious handicapping, while Blanca Paloma closed it with her soaring ballad. However, Chanel put in an incredible performance and will represent Spain at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin on 22 May with the song SloMo.

Chanel is a singer, dancer, and occasional actress, born in Cuba and raised in Spain from four years of age.

If SloMo sounds like an instant dance floor filler, there’s good reason: her songwriting team have worked with the likes of Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

Serving the competition a double-treat of some top-notch choreography and hairography, few could argue that rising star Chanel didn’t do her utmost to bring her song to life on the Benidorm stage in the first semi-final, and delivered a winning performance at the grand final on Saturday night!

It could just be in with a chance.

The song by the Orihuela performer Varry Brava came sixth.
