On Friday 8th and Saturday 9th December Age Concern were present at Overseas Supermarkets in San Fulgencio  selling raffle tickets for some truly fantastic prizes.  The first prize was a huge hamper filled to the brim with tasty goodies and a few bottles of Christmas spirit.

Second prize was very similar and the third prize was a voucher to the value of 25e kindly donated by the supermarket.   Customers of the supermarket were so very generous in not only buying raffle tickets but giving monetary donations also.  A staggering amount of 662.62e was raised which will go to the upkeep of all the many services and mobility aids Age Concern offer to the over 50’s on the Southern Costa Blanca.

Delighted first  prize winners were Pat Humphrey and Cindy Parker from Quesada.  Pauline Land, from La Marina, was the second prize winner and a very lucky young man, Adam, scooped the third prize of the 25e voucher.

Many volunteers from Age Concern willingly gave their time meeting and greeting people in the supermarket over the long two day period.

President, Maureen Payne, was overjoyed with the response of happy Christmas shoppers and valiant volunteers and has promised to repeat this successful fundraising effort in 2018.
