To mark World No-Alcohol Day, a healthy cocktail workshop was held in Mojácar, organized by the local council, the Social Welfare, Equality and Family department of the Provincial Council of Almería, via the Provincial Drug Dependency and Addictions Service.

The purpose of these public workshops is to spread a new culture in the area of free time and leisure, in which healthy non-alcoholic drinks can also be an alternative way of sharing and socializing.

The Almería School of Hospitality and Tourism was chosen to present a demonstration of attractive and appetizing cocktails, without using alcohol. The workshop was planned for 20 people, although the high level of interest meant that this forecast was soon exceeded.

The Mojácar Healthy Cocktail Workshop was attended by technicians from all the areas of the Provincial Delegation involved in its implementation, along with bar and restaurant owners, leisure and catering workers as well as private individuals. Teachers and lecturers also took part, forming a group of great importance with their access to young people, who are of special interest due to the alarming statistics on alcohol consumption amongst adolescents.

Raquel Belmonte, Mojácar Councillor for Youth, who took part in the workshop, expressed the importance of this type of activity which combines the growing interest in healthy living, sports and food. She added that it was also an opportunity to demonstrate that alcohol is not necessary to have delicious drinks or, to have fun with friends and colleagues.
