The mixed doubles tournament took place in the beautiful surrounds of the Campoamor golf club. As expected the weather was pretty hot, but a breeze kept conditions bearable.
After 5 rounds of competitive tennis, with players changeing partners and opponents, the results were-
MEN WOMEN
1st Par Sundberg 28pts 1st Sharron Ward 23pts
2nd Roger Tayler 27pts 2nd Majella Daly 20pts
3rd Jack Daly 24pts 3rd Judy Bornemann 17pts
The top two players from the men and women, were then drawn partners and played a 1 set mixed doubles final.
Congratulations to Roger and Sharron who won a closely contested final by 6-3.
Many thanks to Marie for supplying some much appreciated refreshments for all of the players. After over 3 hours of very enjoyable play in a friendly atmosphere, most of the players enjoyed a drink on the Campoamor hotel terrace.
